Mechanical engineering is a stream of engineering that deals with the application of principal of material and physical science for understanding the design, manufacturing, analysis and maintenance of related mechanical systems. It is a discipline of engineering engages in study of heat and mechanical power for through operations of machines. It is one of the oldest branch of engineering.

Established in the year 2008, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has had the reputation of being among the finest in the North Maharashtra region and is dedicated towards the advancement of technology and science. The department offers 4 year B.Tech program and has an intake of 60. The department has a Centre of Excellence in Variable Compression Ratio Diesel Engine and 14 industrial grade laboratories. The department is devoted to quality teaching, outstanding research and development activities with its highly qualified faculty members. The department handles research projects funded by various agencies and organizes training programs/workshops at regular intervals. An interactive relationship is maintained between the students and staff which enable the students to develop a sound foundation in the stream in a conducive environment. This is reflected in our campus placement with our students getting placed in good industries across the country, year after year. About 10% of our students proceed to top universities in India and abroad to pursue their higher education. The department has an excellent industrial interaction and contributes to the industry by offering consultancy services. Some of them are: Supreme Industries, Bharat Wire Ropes, Jain Irrigation and other ancillary units.

Due to pandemic situation arose due to Covid-19 since the mid-March 2020, the department teaching-learning, examination, evaluation and research activities are continued their effective functioning through online mode. The students and faculties contribute their excellence through development of products which includes easy sanitization mechanism, mask manufacturing through 3D printing and many more.

Eligibility

While Getting admission in top colleges for mechanical engineering in Maharashtra, the candidate should have Passed HSC examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories) in the above subjects taken together; and Obtained score in MHT-CET 2020/Non-zero positive score in JEE MAIN.

Course Eligibility Criteria
For Admission to First Year Engineering course

1) Maharashtra State Candidature Candidate.

  • The Candidate should be an Indian National;
  • Passed HSC examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of Backward class categories) in the above subjects taken together; and Obtained score in MHT-CET 2020/Non-zero positive score in JEE MAIN.
  • Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only)

2) All India Candidature Candidates, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh Migrant Candidature Candidates.

  • Same as Above
  • However, preference shall be given to the candidate obtaining non zero positive score in JEE Main(B.E/B.Tech) over the candidates who obtained non zero score in MHT-CET 2020.

3) NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National.

  • The candidate should have passed the HSC or its equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subject or Computer Science or Information Technology or Informatics Practices or Agriculture or Engineering Graphics or Business Studies , and obtained at least 45% marks in the above subjects taken together;
  • Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.
For Admission to Direct Second Year Engineering course
  • The Candidate should be an Indian National;
  • Passed SSC or HSC and Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of backward class categories ) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an AICTE approved Institution.
  • Passed B.Sc. Degree from (UGC) recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates of Backward class categories) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject. These candidates shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics/ Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with second year subjects.

OR

  • Passed D.Voc. Stream in the same or allied sector.
  • In the above cases, a suitable bridge Courses, if required such as in Mathematics may be conducted.
  • Any other criterion declared from time to time by the appropriate authority as defined under the Act.

Admission Procedure

The institute has been granted autonomous statute by UGC and is affiliated to Kavayitri North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. Admission to UG program in engineering can be sought as per norms laid down by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State and AICTE for CAP quota seats.

These rules are applicable for admissions to the institute vide Government Resolution of Higher & Technical Education Department No. TEM-2016/CR (473/16)/ TE-4 Dated 25th April 2017 and amendments vide Gr. No. TEM-2019/CR 46/ TE-4 dated 04th June 2019. In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (Mah. XXVIII of 2015), the Government of Maharashtra has published the rules on 24.04.2017 and its amendments on 05.06.2018, 04.06.2019 and 09.07.2020 to regulate the admissions.
