About Department

The department has 10 well equipped industry-grade labs to support the academic programs, research & consultancy, ICT class rooms with multimedia facilities & secure Wi-Fi, hi-end computational facilities & a Centre of Excellence in Advanced Construction Materials (CoEACM) that supports the needs of nearby industries. The department specialties include field projects & visits, industrial internships & job oriented courses, dynamic & experienced faculty members, GATE & aptitude classes, student counseling & personality development, entrepreneurship support & extra/co-curricular activities. The department has received several research funded projects.

The UG Program in Civil Engineering was started in July 2011 with 60 intake capacity. The program aims at imparting the best education to create competent civil engineers.

HOD Profile

Prof. R. K. Tiwari is the Head of Civil Engineering department since from its inception. He is associated with the Raisoni Group of Institutions, Jalgaon from 2008 and has a total experience of 17 years. Holding a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with distinction, he has completed his Masters degree in Construction Technology and Management with Honors and Secured Silver medal at RGTU. Currently he is pursuing Ph. D. from SVNIT, Surat. His areas of research and interest include innovative construction materials, reforms in regulatory norms and standards for building constructions, Green building and sustainable developments, Smart city planning etc. To his credit he has funded research projects on the areas of interest and publications in Conferences and Journals of National and International repute. He always insists student participation in co-curricular activities via STTPs, Workshops, Skill development Programs, Project Exhibitions, Model making competitions etc. making them education as an experience of lifetime at Raisoni.

Program Outcomes

  • Engineering Knowledge:Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • Problem analysis:Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • Design/development of solutions:Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • Conduct investigations of complex Problems:Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Modern Tool Usage:Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

For Admission to First Year engineering course:

Passed HSC examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical or Vocational subjects, and obtained at least 45% marks (at least 40% marks, in case of Backward class categories) in the above subjects taken together; and obtained score in MHT-CET 2020/Non-zero positive score in JEE MAIN

For Admission to Direct Second Year engineering course:

Passed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent; Or (ii) Passed B.Sc. Degree from a University Grants Commission (UGC) or Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) and passed HSC with Mathematics as a subject.
